Abstract

Abstract The infrared spectrum of gaseous dimethyl cyanamide has been observed in the region from 5000 to 350 cm −1 and the Raman spectrum of the liquid observed in the region from 3100 to 200 cm −1 . Twenty-four of the twenty-seven fundamentals have been assigned. Raman polarization data indicate that the molecule has a planar or very nearly planar skeleton.
