Abstract

Six antimony phosphates, K 3Sb 3P 2O 14, xH 2O, KSb 2PO 8, KSbP 2O 8, SbOPO 4, K 2SbPO 6, and K 5Sb 5P 2 O 20, have been studied by vibrational spectroscopies: infrared absorption and Raman diffusion. An assignment of the observed frequencies is given, more particularly for the stretching PO and SbO domains. The number of bridging and unshared oxygen atoms in the PO 4 groups has been related to the highest ν as (PO) frequency of the spectra. For the three types of SbO bonds the frequency ranges have been specified.
