Abstract

Summary Using the Ouchterlony technique, a serologic study was made of native and deacetylated Vi antigen prepared from Paracolobactrum ballerup and mixtures of the two. The data presented indicated that the two zones observed in the reaction of native Vi antigen and antibody were due to the presence of both fully acetylated and partially deacetylated antigens in the preparations studied.
