Abstract

Abstract The anomalous very-low-temperature resistivity data reported recently for concentrated potassium-rubidium alloys have been explained by applying the Pippard ineffectiveness condition to inelastic electron-impurity scattering, thus taking into account the fact that the electron mean free path is finite. A discussion is presented of the Pippard condition, its successes and limitations, and further experiments are suggested for clarifying the role of the Pippard condition in modifying the low-temperature resistivity of concentrated crystalline alloys.
