Abstract

This paper discusses the realization of a rotor flux and speed observer based on a PI model reference adaptive system (MRAS), which has good steady precision and robustness, and a speed sensorless field-oriented control (FOC) system for an induction motor is presented. The motor speed is estimated based on the difference between two flux estimators. Then, the digital implementation of the system based on DSP is introduced. The experimental results show the good performance of the system in torque and speed control.
