Abstract
In this paper, the variational iteration method is employed to treat a PDE, which simulates the mass transfer inside a falling liquid film absorber. Upon finding the Lagrange multiplier and use of an appropriate initial approximation, the method is shown to converge to a convenient solution. In view of our prior works, it is revealed that the achieved solution is identical to those offered by the separation of variables method, the Adomian decomposition method, the differential transform method, and the homotopy perturbation method.
