Abstract

The phase diagram of the VRe system was reinvestigated by differential thermal analysis, levitation thermal analysis, X-ray and electron microprobe analysis, micro structural evaminations and systematic measurements of the superconducting transition temperatures as functions of composition and heat treatment. We found several modifications to the evisting diagram. Evact composition limits of the terminal solid solutions, the A15 and the a phases, including the temperatures of the invariant reactions were established in the range 1400 to 2600 °C.
