Abstract

Ultrasonic B-scanning was performed on 150 patients with a history of recurrent bleeding in pregnancy. The value of ultrasonic B-scanning in demonstrating a normally progressing pregnancy, missed abortion, ectopic gestation, hydatidiform mole, and inevitable miscarriage is discussed. Early diagnosis of normal intrauterine pregnancy is reassuring to the patient, and diagnosis of missed abortion, hydatidiform mole, and ectopic gestation will reduce the stay in the hospital. This procedur edoes not involve any risk to the mother or the fetus and can be repeated without discomfort or inconvenience.
