Abstract

This article describes how the author came to write a programmed text to teach a piece of basic mathematics for an electronics course. Student reaction and the effectiveness of the text are discussed, and the economics of generating this sort of material are examined. Various lessons are extracted which are relevant to those who teach science subjects requiring mathematical abilities and knowledge.
