Abstract

Intra-venous pyelographic studies were carried out at various times after delivery in 315 cases of Severe Pre-Eclamptic Toxaemia/Eclampsia. Abnormal findings were recorded in 24 cases. — an incidence of 7.6 per cent. Impairment of renal function and dilatation of the renal system constituted the main abnormal findings (17 cases), while silent renal / ureteric stone was present in 4 cases. From this study it is. advocated that intra-venous pyelography should form an integrat part of the routine investigation of cases of severe hypertensive disorders of pregnancy and eclampsia.
