Abstract

SummaryA patient with documented Hodgkin’s disease was evaluated by a whole-body scan performed with 67Ga citrate and a liver scan performed with 99mTc sulfur colloid. The gallium study showed two areas of abnormal, positive concentration within the liver, whereas the liver scan showed only one negative defect. 67Ga scanning may be a more sensitive indicator of hepatic involvement in Hodgkin’s disease than the colloid scan, and appears useful in confirming a diagnosis of malignancy in the presence of a negative defect on the liver scan.
