Abstract

1. Gastroscopy is often of great value in the differential diagnosis of the gastric antrum observed radiologically to be “spastic, rigid, and deformed,” for confirming an X-ray diagnosis of antral lesion (neoplasm, ulcer, gastritis), in the differential diagnosis of antral ulcers, and in correcting an erroneous X-ray interpretation of a benign lesion.
