Abstract

Experiments were designed to study the validity of scalp sampling using the Saling technique. A total of six preparations were used. The results bear out the premise that capillary blood obtained from a hyperemic area of the scalp closely approximates the arterial blood in pH, pO2, and pCO2 determinations.
