Abstract
Predetermined motion time systems (PMTS) are widely used in industry for setting production standards. In recent years, the popularity of PMTS has grown considerably. This is largely due to the release of the United States Air Force Standard MIL-STD-1567A, the development and widespread use of microcomputers, and the subjectivity of time studies. This paper reviews and evaluates various PMTS. Recommendations for future research are also made.
