Abstract
An effective frequency range approximation method was developed in this study. The method enables one to find the -3 dB effective cut off frequency ranges of EMP waveforms directly from the rise time and the FWHM. The conventional -3 dB as constant K was thought to be 0.35. However, this was found to be incorrect. In this paper, a correct formulation for K is presented. In addition, various effective frequency range approximations were acquired. The determined range was from -1 ~ 8 dB; a general equation for the total approximation of constant K was developed using a curve fitting tool. The K for the -X dB points was found to be in the range of 0.03 ~ 0.1075.
