Abstract

This study evaluates the use of business indexes to access the trade journal literature as a method of enhancing reference work in science and technology. A review was conducted of Applied Science and Technology Index, Business Index, Predicast U.S., and Lexis/Nexis so that coverage between the sci/tech and the business literature could be compared. Duplication of periodical titles among the business sources was also studied. Finally, several sample online literature searches were performed as indicative of the type and extent of sci-tech coverage in the business literature.
