Abstract

OF THE recently developed tests for the demonstration of antibody to pleuropneumonia-like organsims (PPLO) 1,3,4,5,6, we have selected the serum plate agglutination test because it is reasonably simple, rapid, sensitive and specific. During the past 3 years we have tested approximately 30,000 serum samples by this method. This report describes the methods and materials employed and summarizes some of our observations and experiences in using the serum plate test.
