Abstract

Results of calibration of FARO ARM coordinate-measuring machines are analyzed. It is proposed that a confidence function should be used to arrive at a comparative estimation of the metrological performance of individual units of measuring instruments. It is established that the confidence function may be defined as the product of the operational characteristics of verification (calibration) methods and is a function of the errors of the methods and of the measuring instruments used in the calibration.
