Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the extent to which students of Anbar University have exposure to the Internet for educational and research purposes and the nature of this usage in terms of the number of hours that students are spending on Internet for learning or scientific research and what kind of devices they are using and the sites that accessed for this purpose.The study was directed at students of Al-Anbar University and a sample was chosen. The sample consisted of students from four faculties with different specialties, two of which were scientific and the rest ware humane. The sample consisted of (200) individuals selected from different stages in these colleges. The researcher made a comparison between the students of human specialization and scientific ones to reveal the nature of exposure to each in terms of the number of hours of exposure and the extent to which students benefit in each specialty of the Internet services as an electronic educational tool.The research included three chapters. The first chapter includes the methodological framework for the research in what we talked in the second chapter about the Internet and its uses as an educational communication method. The third chapter contains analysis of the research data and interpreting the results.
