Abstract

St Loye's School of Occupational Therapy, Exeter, has been investigating the use of teleconferencing over a 2-year period. Clinical training of students takes place at various locations throughout England, during which time students are required to undertake written assignments set by St Loye's. This article explains the practicalities of using teleconferencing as a method of maintaining contact and supervision with students in connection with one of these assignments. It identifies difficulties in using teleconferencing with occupational therapy students and discusses effective ways of utilising this communication system.
