Abstract
Topical steroid therapy is effective in various atopic disorders and delayed hypersensitivity reactions, which include atopic and contact dermatitis, other pruritic dermatoses, allergic conjunctivitis and keratoconjunctivitis. The primary indications for systemic steroid therapy in these disorders are the severe reactions to potentially avoidable allergens and those collagen diseases in which auto-immune phenomena seem important.The use of steroids as pharmacologic agents in renal diseases will be discussed in part 3.
