Abstract

The use of pairwise statistical tests as part of the analysis of data is, by now, commonplace in dermatology. However in many studies, both laboratory experiments and clinical trials, more than two treatments are compared concurrently. It is then appropriate to use a more general technique, such as analysis of variance, for analysis of the data. The generalisation from t test to analysis of variance and the choice of a suitable model for analysis of variance for a particular example will be discussed.
