Abstract

A computer-oriented system is being developed in Indiana for analyses of traffic accident data. A detailed description is given of the method by which police officers use a binder of large-scale map sections to scale coordinates of all accidents to the nearest 50 feet on the state plane coordinate system. Plans for a variety of graphic outputs and for correlations with information on road types, road conditions, driver records, etc., are indicated.
