Abstract

Implementation of singular basis functions is proposed in a method for EM analysis of axially symmetric metallic structures, which is based on the exact kernel of electric field integral equation in combination with Galerkin testing. By the use of a proper analytic form of these basis functions the edge effect is taken into account. The benefits of using singular basis functions are illustrated on biconical antennas with arm length from 0.5λ up to 10λ.
