Abstract

This paper describes methodology of milk-run system design and implementation. The methodology consists of seven basic steps and includes the use of simulation technology as a tool to support design, analysis, verification and implementation of milk-run concept. Exemplary simulation model of milk-run system is based on hybrid modelling approach, using discrete-event and agent-based simulations. The approach is implemented in FlexSim simulation software. Paper contains a description and illustrations showing the most important elements of the milk-run system in simulation model.
