Abstract

Significance limits are proposed as an alternative to the use of standard deviation, standard error, or confidence or tolerance limits when experimental data are presented in a graphical form. This measurement of uncertainty allows graphical t-tests to be used both for the estimation of data variance and for an approximate statistical comparison between two or more data sets.
