Abstract

The TAST and DP polarographic behavior of some water-insoluble azo pigments in acetonitrile in the presence of tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane was investigated. It has been found that this substance decreases the adverse effect of small changes in the concentration of water and proton donors on the slope of the calibration curve by functioning as a buffer. It has been verified that a higher sensitivity of DPP enables its use for the determination of the test azo pigments after their elution from TLC plates used for a preliminary separation.
