Abstract

The treatment of neuromuscular diseases is a global medical and social problem. The motor schedule for this category of patients is especially important. An apparatus, which provides a reciprocal gait with minimum energy consumption due to a “walking” gait-modelling device, was developed at the Ukrainian Research Institute of Prosthetics, Prosthesis Making and Working Capacity Restoration and passed clinical trials. The verticalization and the ability to move promoted improvement in the physical and psychoemotional state, preenting complications in the internal organs caused by hypodynamia. The suggested technique for the preparation and use of the device for walking in rehabilitating children with neuromuscular diseases showed its efficacy.
