Abstract
SynopsisThe Parr distribution function is used within the Lindhard-Levine dielectric response function to calculate the energy loss of protons on the rare gases. This distribution is a function of the local temperature, which depends on the local kinetic energy. Present results compare quite well with the first Born approximation at high energies and open the way to use the Wigner distribution function.
