Abstract
The use of mixers of the centrifugal type, used in the manufacture of plastics, is a very efficient method of introducing modifiers into a polymer with the objective of obtaining transparent monofilaments. In the preparation of transparent filaments of small diameter, where the optimum modifier content does not exceed 0.5% by wt., it is advisable to introduce additives in the stage of polymer synthesis, particularly if the volume of filament manufacture is sufficiently great.
