Abstract

Vaname shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) has high economical value as an export commodity However, there are obstacles that cause a decline in the level of shrimp exports in the world. One of the obstacle is shrimp disease which is treated using antibiotics. This method might ca-used pathogenic resistance and become a residue when consumed by humans. Avi-cennia sp. fruit extracthas benefits as natu-ral antibacterial ingredient that are safe to treat the shrimp which is infected by the Vibrio parahaemolyticus. In this study, shrimp is infected with Vibrio parahaemo-lyticus immersed using Avicennia sp. with a concentration of 300 mg L-1, 350 mg L-1, and 400 mg L-1 for 21 days plus the control treatment. The concentration of 400 mg L-1 showed better results compare to other con-centration on all observed parameters; fas-ter recovery time, higher survival rate and relative percent survival (RPS), also mild damage on hepatopancreas test. Uji Pendahuluan

Terdapat beberapa tahap dalam melakukan uji pendahuluan antara lain preparasi sampel buah A. alba. yang didapatkan dari Pulau Pasaran, Kota Karang, Teluk Betung Timur, Kota Bandar Lampung, Lampung. Terdapat beberapa tahap dalam melakukan uji pendahuluan antara lain preparasi sampel buah A. alba. Buah A. alba dimaserasi menggunakan pelarut metanol yang selanjutnya dilakukan evaporasi pada filtrat yang didapatkan menggunakan rotary evaporator dengan suhu 37 oC (Handayani and Nurjanah, 2013). Ekstrak cair yang didapatkan kemudian diuji kualitatif fitokimia untuk mengetahui kandungan senyawa aktif yang terdapat dalam buah A. alba. Dilakukan uji aktivitas antibakteri pada ekstrak yang telah didapat terhadap bakteri V. parahaemolyticus dengan konsentrasi 50, 100, 200, 400 mg/l serta kontrol positif yang mengandung 50 mg/l kloramfenikol dan kontrol negatif yang mengandung pelarut metanol. Uji BSLT ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan larva Artemia salina sebanyak 10 ekor yang dimasukkan ke dalam tabung reaksi berisi 3 ml air laut dan telah diberi larutan ekstrak buah mangrove dengan konsentrasi 0 (kontrol), 300 mg/l, 350 mg/l, dan 400 mg/l sebanyak 2 kali ulangan
