Abstract

Leishmaniasis is a parasitic disease of tropical and subtropical areas, which afflicts probably more than 100 million people. Recent studies show that encapsulating drugs in artificial phospholipid vesicles, called liposomes, can make them more than 700 times effective than unencapsulated drugs [1–4].
