Abstract
This single case study reports on the use of a hypnosis session in conjunction with on-going family therapy to eliminate fire-setting behavior in a 6 year old boy. The fire-setting behavior was of at least one year's duration and never occurred after the hypnotic intervention. Cautions about drawing conclusions from single case studies are detailed. One particular hypnotic intervention used was a strategic approach to understand and eliminate the fire-setting behavior.
