Abstract
Purpose: In inoperable patients with locally advanced rectal cancer, the local control with external beam radiation therapy (EBRT) alone is 30%. In this study we report on the feasibility of using high-dose-rate endorectal brachytherapy (HDRBT) as a boost treatment after a short course of EBRT.
