Abstract
The use of gold in mandibular denture base construction will reduce the base deformation across the midline of the lower denture. It should be emphasized that a gold casting incorporated within the mandibular denture base is not meant to satisfy the multitude of patient problems associated with complete denture prosthodontics. However, it can be a valuable technique among the many already available for fulfilling the requirements of comfort, function, and satisfaction for some patients.
