Abstract

A method is described for sensitizing sheep erythrocytes with chromic chloride and polymerized flagellin from two different Salmonellae. Sensitized cells have been used for the titration of serum antibody by passive hemagglutination and a hemolytic plaque assay for both IgM and IgG antibody-secreting cells. Results obtained with the methods described agree with previously used assay procedures, and offer the advantage of convinience and rapidity.
