Abstract
A procedure is described for the location and identification of some polycyclic hydrocarbons and heterocyclic compounds on thin layers by the use of several different electron-acceptors as spray reagents. The mass spectra of the coloured complexes, thus formed, if recorded at different temperatures, often allow the structure of both the donor and acceptor moieties of the complex to be determined.
