Abstract
The present paper describes a method for the measurement of linear or angular relative acceleration. It is based on eddy current generation in an electrically conductive component when submitted to the acceleration to be measured, under a static magnetic field. A prototype of a novel contactless transducer using that method is also presented. Experimental results of angular relative acceleration measurements are shown. Further advances on the transducer development are pointed out.
