Abstract

This paper discussed the use of earned value management as an analytical tool in construction sector to increase project success rate with the aim of illustrating how EVM is used on previous project and quantify the impact in construction project. In this paper, we tried to evaluate this method used in project management by using three case studies that shows how this is implemented. These case studies are documented with reports, graphs, analyses and comments. EVM contribution to the success of these case studies by identifying the main problems and solution those results into the project finishing on time and on budget. Overall, the paper summarizes how EVM has helped construction industries see the usefulness of this tool in given a clearer insight to the project by showing the project status in terms of cost and time and forecasting when the project would be finished.
