Abstract

The Ukrainian nation is choosing its independence in the conditions of tough historical processes. This struggle is being waged on all “fronts”, one of which is education. Continuity and quality of higher education is the key to the future of our country. At the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics of ZSMU, during the period of hostilities, distance education technologies were widely used, which in terms of the effectiveness of assimilation of theoretical material are in no way inferior to classroom work, and practical questions are optimized as much as possible for their best mastery. An analysis of the department’s work during the spring semester of the 2021-2022 academic year was conducted. The obtained data indicate that there are difficulties with the practical part of the discipline, while maintaining theoretical training at a high level. The general results of training did not statistically differ from those in the pre-war period, which confirms the effectiveness of distance learning in today’s conditions.
