Abstract

This paper briefly indicates some computer-based techniques which have been developed in the construction of a theory of the long-period perturbations of the orbit of Saturn's satellite Hyperion, in the method used to expand the disturbing function and its derivatives, in the fitting into the theory of observationally-derived values of the co-efficients of the main long-period terms, and in the construction of a differential correction system to find a dynamically consistent set of values of these co-efficients.
