Abstract

RATIONALE: Immediate type allergies to hymenoptera venoms are currently diagnosed by clinical history, skin tests (ST) and determination of venom-specific IgE (IgE). Here we investigate the clinical utility of a sulfidoleukotriene release assay (CAST™-ELISA) and a basophil activation assay (expression of CD63 surface marker) by flow cytometry (Flow-CAST™).
