Summary

Introduction

In the wake of modernization and technology, negatively coupled with crime and terrorism, sophisticated crime keeps rising. Close Circuit Television (CCTV) systems have become part of this infrastructure and are very important and effective systems to implement in today’s environments (Williams, 2008; Farrington et al, 2007). This project attempts to design and propose a CCTV system that, when implemented on the campuses of KAAF University College, (KAAFUC), an accredited private university college in Ghana, will complement and enhance the present security setup, but improve and extend visual coverage over its sensitive areas. The study assesses the effectiveness of crime combating on the campuses, assesses the possibility of using CCTV to enhance the security systems and provide a more reliable and cost effective way of monitoring crime-prone areas (Ansong, 2014)
