Abstract

We would like to propose an alternative technique for implant coverage in implant-based breast reconstruction (ImBR) using cadaveric fascia lata (FL) in replacement of muscular flaps (i.e. serratus fascia), synthetic mesh (SM) and/or acellular dermal matrix (ADM), evaluate its short-term results and complications and compare it with existing data regarding SM and ADM in ImBR. ADMs have become very popular in the last decade as “extension” of pectoralis muscle for covering the implant's lower pole, reducing the risk of exposure and obtaining more satisfying definition of inframammary fold (IMF) and improving lower pole projection. 1 Breuing K.H.
