Abstract

The article deals with the issues of teaching a foreign language in a higher educational institution at non-linguistic faculties. The use of authentic texts focused on the professional interests of the future specialist in teaching a foreign language is a very important aspect of learning. The article deals with the application of the communicative method in teaching reading and listening. The stages of work and types of exercises are proposed when using authentic texts in the classroom, aimed at the formation of foreign language competence.
