Abstract
This paper reviews the literature on the subject of using art in the assessment of psychotic disorders, and current developments and views within the field of psychiatry about psychotic disorders. It also describes the use of art in art therapy, psychological and psychiatric studies. Methodological considerations are emphasized with recommendations for the use of art assessments as a part of interdisciplinary research.
