Abstract

Studies that measure maximum relative growth rates in a large number of plant species must often accept compromises between accuracy of estimation and the number of species that can be studied. In this paper is shown that one can obtain equivalent accuracy in estimating average maximum relative growth rate by using only aboveground tissues as when using whole plant biomass
