Abstract

An open-ended, long-term group for borderline mothers of adolescents is presented, along with a discussion of the merits of this modality. How group process helped change the behavior and goals of its members, enabling them to separate from their children, is the major thrust of this paper. A brief history of the group is given, as well as the general background and presenting problems of the members. Also included is a discussion of the leadership, its requirements, problems, and enabling strategies.
