Abstract

This article describes the process of developing a model of a multi loop directional coupler for marine applications by replacing conventional segments with artificial transmission lines. As a result, a coupler with an area of 2455 mm2 (at a frequency of 0.9 GHz) was obtained, which is 75.15% less than when the coupler is implemented on quarter-wave segments. The relevance of this work lies in the development of compact devices with easily reproducible geometry through the use of artificial transmission lines.
