Abstract
Abstract The Carnian bivalve Oretia coxi Marwick is re-examined, and observations are added to the original description of the right ear, hinge, byssal notch, and musculature. It is shown that the left valve also has a small ear. The genus is tentatively placed in the family Pergamidiidae Cox, and compared with smooth Monotidae Fischer and with members of the Mysidiellidae Cox.
